1988 Plebiscite - Fixed Link Crossing

The Writ of Plebiscite was issued on December 7, 1987 for Ordinary Polling Day on January 18,1988 where PEI was asked "Are you in favour of a fixed link crossing between Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick?"

The YES vote won this plebscite with 33,229 Islanders (or 59.46) voting in favor of a "Fixed Link", while 22,472 Islanders or 40.21% said NO.
The District most in favor was 5th Queens, with 4,342 saying YES, while the district with the least support came from 5th Queens as well with 2,733 islanders saying NO.
