School Board Candidate Information

Fill out the CANDIDATE FORMS and collect signatures from 10 or more eligible voters and return the nomination form to the Elections PEI Office no later than 2:00 pm on Nomination Day. Drop off in person or by email at addresses above. 

At the close of nominations on Nomination Day, the Chief Electoral Officer will announce the official CSLF candidates and the PSB Candidates here, on this website.

You can be nominated as a candidate if you are:

(a) a Canadian citizen;
(b) at least eighteen years of age on the date of the election;
(c) have been resident in the province for at least the six months immediately preceding the
     date of the election; and
(d) where the election is for trustees for the French Language School Board, meets one of
      the following requirements:
                                               (i) the person is an eligible parent, or
                                               (ii)  the person would be an eligible parent if the person had a child.

As well as;
e) for the CSLF, meets the qualifications set out in clauses above (a,b,c,and d (i),(ii)); and has been resident in the electoral zone in which the person proposes to run as a candidate for at least the six months immediately preceding the date of the election. 
f) for the PSB, meets the qualifications set out in clauses above (a,b and c); and has been resident in the electoral zone in which the person proposes to run as a candidate for at least the six months immediately preceding the date of the election. 

If there are no other candidates nominated by 2:00 pm on Nomination Day in your electoral school zone, the CEO of Elections PEI will proclaim you as the elected representative for the electoral zone. This is known as "Election by Acclamation".
