For Candidates

A person is eligible to be nominated and run as a candidate for trustee if the person is: 

• a Canadian citizen;
• at least 18 years of age on the date of the election;
• a resident in the electoral zone in which they propose to run for at least six months (April 21, 2022) before the date the election is called; and
• are eligible to vote in the school board election.

*NOTE*
Candidates for the CSLF election must also be:

• an eligible parent, or
• would be an eligible parent if the person had a child;
• an "eligible parent" is defined by the Education Act as a resident of the province who, under Section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, has the right to have his or her child receive French first language instruction in the province.

All candidates must first check their eligibility and then download the Candidate Nomination Form. A candidate must have ten or more eligible voters to nominate them for the electoral zone in which the nominators and the candidate all live. This can be done by completing the Nomination Paper provided by Elections PEI. PSB Nomination Form | CSLF Nomination Form

Submit the completed form, scan and email to Elections PEI
registration@electionspei.ca  by 2 p.m. Friday September 23, 2022.

Voters will can visit this website to learn more about you and the other candidates running in the election. The candidate profile pages with the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning will be available following the close of nominations on Friday September 23, 2022.
***The onus is on you, the candidate, to supply the bio information and profile picture.  Contact information will be available on the nomination paper.
