Plebiscites

The Lieutenant Governor in Council may from time to time direct that a provincial plebiscite is held under the provincial Plebiscites Act.

A plebiscite may be held to receive an expression of opinion of the electors on any matter of public concern. Plebiscites are conducted as nearly as may be possible to the manner provided in the holding of a provincial election. Each qualified elector is entitled to cast one ballot in the electoral district in which the elector resides.
